The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently published new resources to help states work to address climate change and reduce pollution.

According to a press release, these new resources include specific state-level data on greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and sinks, updates to EPA’s current State Inventory Tool and information on how states can reduce emissions of GHG.

“Tackling the climate crisis requires action across all levels of government, and our partnership with states has never been more important to reduce emissions and deliver solutions,” EPA Administrator Michael Regan said, according to the press release. “The high-quality, peer-reviewed data and analyses released today will support our state partners as we work to track climate trends and confront this challenge together.”

This information draws on the EPA’s Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks, which has been compiled in partnership with various experts from other government agencies, research and academic institutions, and industry associations.

The new informational resources will support official state data and will be used to provide stakeholders with more information to better identify opportunities to reduce emissions and determine policy assessment and development.
