The U.S. Department of Labor is offering online seminars to educate federal employers on prevailing wage requirements.

The online compliance seminars will be offered throughout 2022 and will explain the prevailing wage requirements of federally funded construction and service contracts, according to a March 15 news release.

According to DOL Acting Wage and Hour Division Administrator Jessica Looman, these seminars will help contractors, workers, unions and contracting agencies to better understand the laws governing wage and benefit practices of federal contracts to improve their compliance with prevailing wage requirements.

“As the Biden-Harris administration makes unprecedented investments in the nation’s infrastructure, ensuring employers comply with the Davis-Bacon and Service Contract acts and other laws we enforce to protect workers is critical to creating good jobs and supporting responsible employers,” Looman said.

The seminars will include video training covering various Davis-Bacon and Related Acts and McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act topics. Participants are invited to watch these videos on demand.

The compliance seminars are being offered online in an effort to increase participation.
