Dynamic Load Modeling Workshop

Join the U.S Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity (OE) on Thursday, March 24 at 1:00 pm ET for a Dynamic Load Modeling workshop to review current dynamic load modeling projects.

The distribution system is going through a period of dramatic change with a sharp increase in distributed energy resources, renewable generation like solar and wind, microgrids, and transportation electronification. Given these changes, methods for dynamic load modeling need to keep pace with the physical changes on the system. Advanced methods of dynamic load modeling can represent the short-term behavior (on the order of 10 to 20 seconds) of end-use loads so that system operators and planners can better manage this integration of renewables while maintaining reliability.

This workshop will feature overviews from OE research and development projects and will build community among researchers, industry, and academia. Register for the workshop here.
