(WASHINGTON) - Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement on the appointment of Randolph D. “Tex" Alles as Director of the United States Secret Service:
“With his experience in law enforcement, I hope Director Alles can continue to bring needed reform to the Secret Service that began in the previous Administration. After a busy campaign season and a change in administration, it is clear the Service’s resources are stretched thin. To ensure the Secret Service is effective, Director Alles must be committed to working with Congress to ensure the law enforcement agency has the proper resources and leadership structure in place to focus on retention, recruitment, and morale."
