Pallone on Biden’s Fiscal Year 2023 Budget

Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) released the following statement today after the release of President Biden’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 budget:

“President Biden put forward a budget today that prioritizes the health and prosperity of the American people.

“I strongly support the President’s call to invest in pandemic response and public health infrastructure as we continue to respond to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I commend the President for proposing to expand access to mental health care, better support our health care workforce, and advance the search for new cures and treatments. I also support President Biden’s call to provide mandatory, stable funding for the Indian Health Service to ensure Tribal communities have access to high quality care.

“The President’s budget includes critical funding for clean energy technology to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels so we are no longer vulnerable to the whims of dictators and global supply shocks. It also invests in public health with critical funds to slash greenhouse gas pollution and continue upgrading our aging drinking water infrastructure.

“Finally, I applaud President Biden’s call for additional investments to support domestic manufacturing, secure our supply chains, and bridge the digital divide.”
