National Park Service invites public to celebrate Ranger Betty Reid Soskin retirement April 16

The National Park Service invites the public to celebrate Ranger Betty Reid Soskin’s retirement on Saturday, April 16, from 1-2 p.m. at Craneway Pavilion, 1414 Harbour Way South, Richmond, California.

On Thursday, March 31, 2022, Ranger Betty retired after a decade and a half of sharing her personal experiences and the efforts of women from diverse backgrounds who worked on the World War II Home Front.  The National Park Service is very grateful for her significant contributions and wants to wish her well in retirement.

The event is open to all ages, and no reservations are required. For more information, visit the park website www.nps.gov/rori. or call the visitor education center at (510) 232-5050 x 0.

Soskin’s interpretive programs at Rosie the Riveter/World War II Home Front National Historical Park have illuminated the histories of African Americans and other people of color, and her efforts demonstrate how her work has impacted the way the NPS conveys such history to audiences across the United States.
