Native Plant Talks offered at National Park

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: On Saturday, April 16, join local plant experts Nathanael Pilla and Steve Sass at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center to learn about the beauty and importance of native plants.

From 10:00 am to 11:30 am, Nathanael Pilla, a regional botanist, will present a historical and botanical journey through the flora of the Indiana Dunes. Discover what we can do to minimize our impact on nature.

Then from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, celebrate more botanical treasures of the Indiana Dunes with local plant expert Steve Sass who will discuss plant communities and their essential role in the web of life, including native plants in our home landscapes and how they can better the ecosystems that surrounds us.

The Indiana Dunes Visitor Center is located at 1215 North State Road 49, about one mile north of Interstate 94.
