U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector’s Eagle Pass North Station apprehended two large groups of migrants in two days after they illegally entered the United States.
April 14, just past midnight, 114 undocumented migrants were apprehended just after making illegal entry into the United States. The group of 114 migrants included nationalities from seven different countries to include 56 Cuban, 16 Peruvian, 16 Kyrgyzstan, seven Kazakhstan, 13 Columbian, five Venezuelan, and one from Russia. A more extensive breakdown showed 51 single adult males, 21 single adult females and 12 family units comprised of 19 adults and 23 children.
April 15, at 1:17 a.m., 121 undocumented migrants were apprehended just after making illegal entry into the United States. The group of 121 migrants included a large number of Cuban nationals with 74, followed by 24 from Venezuelan, 17 from Colombian, and six from Peru. A demographic breakdown revealed 61 single adult males, 30 single adult females, 29 family unit migrants and one unaccompanied minor child.
All individuals will be transported to the Eagle Pass Centralized Processing Center and processed in accordance with Customs and Border Protection policies.
Del Rio Sector continues to see an increase in illegal alien apprehensions, smuggling events and sex offender apprehensions. During the current fiscal year, beginning Oct. 1, 2021, through Feb. 28, 2022, Del Rio Sector agents have encountered 153,271 migrants.
