Today, Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to discuss the state of the war in Ukraine, as well as U.S. efforts to support Ukraine and impose costs against Russia in response to its unlawful aggression. During their meeting, Secretary Raimondo shared an overview of the Department’s support for Ukraine. They discussed the Department’s role in the U.S. Government-wide sanctions process, including recent actions the Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security has taken to address violations of U.S. Export Controls. They also discussed ways to increase coordination with, and support for, Ukraine in the future.
