The most recent notice, Notice of Determinations; Culturally Significant Objects Being Imported for Exhibition-Determinations: “The Double: Identity and Difference in Art Since 1900” Exhibition, was submitted on April 28, 2022.
The State Department published five the week before, marking a 40 percent decrease.
The State Department is responsibly for international relations with a budget of more than $50 billion. Tenure at the State Dept. is increasingly tenuous and it's seen as an extension of the President's will, ambitions and flaws.
Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.
Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
