December 2021: National Institute of Standards and Technology publishes six press releases

There were six press releases published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in December 2021.

The most recent press release, "Sneezes, Rain Clouds and Ink Jets: NIST Improves the Ability of Optical Microscopes to Measure the Volume of Microdroplets," was submitted on Dec. 20, 2021.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology published seven press releases the month before, marking a 14.3 percent decrease for the current month.

The Institute was created in response to the proliferation of inconsistent standards for weights and measures throughout the US.

One of its many accomplishments is the creation of an experimental quantum logic clock. It will neither gain nor lose a second in four billion years.
