Public press releases: National Institute of Standards and Technology publishes eight in January

There were eight press releases published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in January.

The most recent press release, "NIST Announces Funding Opportunity for Manufacturing Centers in Kentucky, Nebraska, Rhode Island and South Dakota," was submitted on Jan. 26.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology published six press releases the month before, marking a 33.3 percent increase for the current month.

The Institute was created in response to the proliferation of inconsistent standards for weights and measures throughout the US.

One of its many accomplishments is the creation of an experimental quantum logic clock. It will neither gain nor lose a second in four billion years.
