Finance Committee Approves Five Bush Nominees

WASHINGTON - The Committee on Finance, under the leadership of Chairman ChuckGrassley, today unanimously reported five nominees out of the Committee and to the full Senate forconsideration.

The nominees from President Bush were the subject of a Committee hearing last week.Approved by the Committee today were:

< Claude Allen to be Deputy Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services;

< Thomas Scully to be Administrator of the Health Care Financing Administration,Department of Health and Human Services;

< Piyush Jindal to be Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, Department of Healthand Human Services;

< Peter R. Fisher to be Under Secretary for Domestic Finance, U.S. Department of Treasury;

< and James Gurule to be Under Secretary of the Treasury for Enforcement, U.S. Departmentof Treasury.
