Baucus Announces Two Week Extension of Miscellaneous Trade and Tariff Legislation Deadline

Senator Max Baucus, Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, announced today that the deadline for introducing legislation to be considered in miscellaneous trade and tariff legislation the Congress will take up later this year has been extended to Friday, April 26, 2002.

On March 11, 2002, Chairman Baucus and Ranking Member Chuck Grassley sent a letter to colleagues asking them to introduce legislation for consideration in the miscellaneous tariff legislation by April 12, 2002. In order to facilitate this process, the deadline is being extended by two weeks to April 26.
