Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued the following statement on the announcement of a Section 301 investigation into Chinese trade practices:
“This is about protecting American jobs and American competitiveness. For too long, China has used a host of coercive, mercantilist policies to effectively force American businesses to hand over their best ideas to competitors in China. Today’s action is a welcome first step to tackle this serious challenge, which I called for earlier this month. I will be watching closely to ensure that the Administration follows through and delivers concrete results for American companies and workers."
