Wyden Slams Trump Administration Executive Order to Raise Health Care Costs and Undermine Protections for Pre-existing Conditions

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on Oct. 12, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued a statement after the Trump administration released the details of an executive order to allow increased use of scam Association Health Plans and other steps that would unravel the individual and small group health care markets:

“Rather than listening to the American public and Congress after they repeatedly rejected Trumpcare, the administration has chosen to sabotage the Affordable Care Act by executive decree," Wyden said. “This executive order will undermine protections for those with pre-existing conditions, segregate the market into sick and healthy, and reopen the door to scam health insurance that doesn’t cover real care."
