WASHINGTON - Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) issued a statement about a Texas judge’s ruling that that Obamacare is unconstitutional:
“This is an interesting case and we’re going to have to see how it ultimately plays out. The individual mandate forced Americans to buy health insurance they did not want or could not afford and I am proud that Republicans acted decisively in repealing the regressive tax in last year’s tax overhaul. While this case winds its way through the courts, Congress should ensure that protections for individuals with preexisting conditions remain."
