Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today released the following statement in response to the New York Times’ reporting on Donald Trump’s tax records and business losses:
“If you’re a hardworking middle-class family struggling to pay the bills and save for the future, you pay more in federal taxes than Donald Trump. It’s outrageous. Donald Trump has been ripping off the American people for decades. No wonder he’s been fighting tooth and nail to hide his tax returns. Funding key priorities for middle-class families like health care depends on cracking down on wealthy tax cheats like Donald Trump, and that will be one of my top priorities if Democrats retake the Senate."
