Wyden Statement on Efforts to Raise the Minimum Wage

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on Feb. 25, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today released the following statement on efforts to raise the minimum wage:

“While I am disappointed by today’s decision, it marks the beginning-not the end-of our efforts to raise the minimum wage for millions of hard-working Americans. We will continue to explore all legislative options-including a tax penalty for mega-corporations that refuse to pay a living wage-for raising workers’ wages as we push forward on the relief package, which must be signed into law ahead of the March 14th cliff for jobless benefits."
