Wyden Statement on Supreme Court ACA Decision

The following press release was published by the United States Senate Committee on Finance Chairman's News on June 17, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued a statement after the Supreme Court in an 7-2 decision to dismiss a lawsuit against the Affordable Care Act:

“Yet again, Republican ideological fantasies to turn back the clock on American health care have been defeated. This ill-begotten lawsuit was filed with one goal in mind: throw the American health care system into chaos. If Republicans had gotten their way, millions of families would have lost their health insurance, premiums would have skyrocketed for millions more and pre-existing condition protections would have been vaporized. Now that this tired crusade has once again failed, it is time for Congress to get to work building on the strides that have already been taken to make health care in America affordable and accessible for all."
