WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. House of Representatives today approved H.R. 4213, the Tax Extenders Act of 2009, by a vote of 241-181. The critical legislation, introduced by Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY), would extend several tax provisions currently set to expire at the end of the year.
“The tax relief provided in today’s bill is essential to stimulating job creation and supporting the needs of struggling American families and businesses," said Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY). “Today’s discussion is an important step toward reforming the entire system to simplify the code, provide certainty for families and businesses, and continue our economic recovery."
