Levin Statement on ACA Enrollment Numbers

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on May 1, 2014. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON - Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Sander Levin (D-MI) today made the following statement in response to Secretary Sebelius’s announcement of final ACA enrollment numbers:

“This is further proof that there is enormous demand for affordable health coverage. The 8 million Americans who selected a plan through the insurance marketplaces - and 4.8 million additional individuals who enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP - far exceeds expectations from even a few weeks ago. The ACA is working to bring health security throughout the nation and in Michigan, where more than 272,000 people selected plans."
