A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine today found that the number of uninsured adults ages 18 to 64 dropped by more than 10 million, or 5.2%. The drop was significant across all demographic groups. This is just the latest in a string of studies demonstrating the success of the Affordable Care Act.
Earlier this month, studies from Gallup, the Urban Institute and the Commonwealth Fund confirmed what we already know: the ACA is working and Americans - including an overwhelming majority of Republicans covered by ACA policies - are happy with it. Instead of trying to undermine affordable care for their constituents, Republicans should be working with Democrats to strengthen the law and protect access to affordable insurance for all Americans.
