Ryan Statement on July Jobs Report

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on Aug. 14, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) released the following statement in response to the July jobs report.

“We can do better than this. The truth is our economy has been underperforming this entire presidency. Despite repeated promises of a strong recovery, investment has been too weak, jobs creation has been too slow, and wages are stuck in neutral. And now the administration is proposing even more stifling regulation. Americans deserve better, and that’s why this committee is so focused on moving the economy forward. By boosting exports, fixing our tax code, and helping people transition from welfare to work, we can restore optimism and opportunity in America."
