WASHINGTON, DC -Today, Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement on the passing of Shirley Melton Johnson, beloved wife of Social Security Subcommittee Chairman Sam Johnson.

“Our hearts are broken by the passing of Shirley, our good friend Sam Johnson’s beautiful wife. Shirley’s unwavering devotion to Sam mirrors his devotion to our country. Our prayers are with the family as we thank them both for their service and sacrifice."
