Neal Statement on WTO Boeing Subsidies Report

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on June 9, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard Neal (D-MA) today released the following statement after the World Trade Organization (WTO) issued a report on a European Union (EU) challenge to aircraft subsidies:

“Today’s dispute settlement panel report is a wholesale rejection by the WTO of the EU’s allegations of illegal subsidies provided to Boeing. I support USTR’s efforts to appeal the limited findings in this report against one U.S. state-level program, and to move forward with steps to resolve this long-standing dispute, especially in light of the WTO’s findings that the EU has continued to provide Airbus with billions of dollars of harmful subsidies."
