WASHINGTON, DC- Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) announced that Melissa Kiedrowicz will serve as the Committee’s director of outreach and member services. Ms. Kiedrowicz comes to Ways and Means from the office of Congresswoman Linda Sánchez (D-CA), a longtime member of the Committee.
“Melissa’s deep understanding of how Congress functions and her years of experience in an exceptional Ways and Means member’s office will serve her well as she helps the Committee advance critical legislation in these extraordinarily challenging times for the nation," said Chairman Neal. “Her knowledge of House procedure and complex policy make her a superb liaison and advocate for our members and their priorities. I welcome Melissa to the Committee and look forward to her contributions as we continue our efforts to support workers, families, and the economy’s recovery in the 117th Congress."
Ms. Kiedrowicz has served in Rep. Sánchez’s office for more than 10 years, working her way up from the role of legislative intern to deputy chief of staff. During the Congresswoman’s time as House Democratic Caucus Vice Chair in the 115th Congress, Ms. Kiedrowicz served as a senior advisor on the Caucus team. Her portfolio of legislative issues has included federal taxation, trade, and retirement policy, and most recently she has also focused on Rep. Sánchez’s COVID-19 response efforts.
Ms. Kiedrowicz is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Miami School of Law.
