Chairman Neal Praises Biden Executive Orders on Climate Change

The following press release was published by the U.S. Congress Committee on Ways and Means on Jan. 27, 2021. It is reproduced in full below.

SPRINGFIELD, MA-Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement after President Biden issued several executive orders aimed at combatting climate change:

“President Biden recognizes that we cannot build back better without aggressively tackling the climate crisis and ensuring that our planet will be here for generations to come. We have an opportunity to make major investments in efforts to combat climate change that will simultaneously create good green jobs and propel our economy out of the COVID downturn. As the president underscored, this is a matter of justice as well - certain communities disproportionately feel the adverse effects of our changing climate. The Ways and Means Committee stands ready to join the Biden Administration in addressing this complex crisis through our work on infrastructure, green energy, and health equity."
