Following the release by the U.S. Trade Representative of President Biden’s 2022 Trade Policy Agenda, Ways and Means Republican Leader Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) and Trade Subcommittee Leader Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE) issued the following statement:

“While we look forward to reviewing the Biden administration’s trade agenda, we are concerned that it could sidestep the challenges we face.

“We should be renewing trade promotion authority, pursuing new trade agreements and markets to find more customers to sell American, and enforcing existing trade agreements.

“Ambassador Tai is enormously talented and well positioned to tear down the ‘America need not apply’ signs still in place around the world. We cannot afford to sit on the sidelines while our competitors push full speed ahead."
