This quarterly online newsletter compiles ARS news and expert resources on the health and well-being of agricultural animals and fish.
Each quarter, one article in Healthy Animals focuses on a particular element of ARS animal research. The current issue explores some of the ways ARS researchers are working to improve aquaculture practices in the United States.
Other research highlighted in this issue includes:
* An ARS discovery that could help boost artificial insemination production
* New ARS-developed vaccines that protect catfish and other fish against pathogens
* ARS efforts to preserve the genetic material of Navajo-Churro sheep, and
* ARS production of cows with mastitis-resistant proteins in their genes
