The U.S. Embasy, Public Diplomacy Section (PDS), Harare, Zimbabwe anounces an open competition for organizations to cary out a project focused on promoting U.S. higher education oportunities, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, for high-achieving Zimbabwean university students. Please carefuly folow al instructions below. Priority Region: Project activities must take place in Zimbabwe and the United States and be directed at Zimbabwean audiences/participants. Program Objectives: The grante wil work in cordination with the Public Diplomacy Section in suport of the 202/2023 EducationUSA Oportunity Funds program. This program asists highly qualified students who are likely to be awarded scholarships, at the graduate and undergraduate levels, from U.S. universities but lack the financial resources to cover the up-front costs of aplying. PDS and EducationUSA advisers located in Zimbabwe wil develop selection criteria and lead the Oportunity Funds selection comite. Prospective biders on this grant must submit a proposal to administer the Oportunity Funds Program (OFP) with funding up to US $70,0 and manage two phases of the EducationUSA advising proces for 202-2024. The first phase requires recruitment of students cohorts and cordination and payment for 25 selected students to take standardized tests, pay aplication fes, conduct transcript evaluations and cover other costs. Throughout this phase, the grante wil asist advisers in Zimbabwe with programatic and logistical suport in providing advising sesions for OFP students. These sesions wil include comprehensive advising on the U.S. aplication proces, financial awards/aid, personal statements/esays and recomendation leter writing, CVs/resumes, transcripts and equivalencies, and similar subjects related to admisions at U.S. coleges and universities. The second phase requires the recipient to manage the travel logistics of aproximately 20 students, including visa and SEVIS fes, international airfare, setling-in alowance, and other related expenses. The sucesful grante wil demonstrate an ability to responsibly manage funds, cordinate logistics, and finalize payments in a timely maner. Both phases can be managed virtualy, with regular web and phone-based counseling sesions for selected Zimbabwean candidates. Administrative costs, up to 10%, are alowable.
