DOE-NETL offers new grant application process starting May 2

The National Energy Technology Laboratory is offering a grant open from May 2 to July 1.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement will accelerate wide-scale deployment of carbon capture and storage by potentially awarding additional projects to support the CarbonSAFE Initiative, DOEs flagship effort to move carbon storage technologies into geographically widespread commercial practice. CarbonSAFE Phase II prjoects will define and assess a carbon storage complex through data collection, geologic analysis, identification of contractual and regulatory requirements and development of plans to satisfy them, subsurface modeling to support geologic characterization, risk assessment and monitoring, and public engagement. In addition, Phase II projects will complete a rigorous feasibility study for both technical and economic viability.
