OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. Justice Counts implementation funding will support states to adopt a core set of criminal justice metrics 2; to collect, analyze, and share data in a timely and consistent manner 2; so that policymakers have access to actionable data to make policy and budgetary decisions.
