Washington DC - Congressman Howard L. Berman, Ranking Democrat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, made the following statement in response to Taiwan being named an official candidate for the State Department’s Visa Waiver Program (VWP).
"I'm pleased that Taiwan has been made a candidate for inclusion in the U.S. Visa Waiver Program," said Rep. Berman. “This is an important step in strengthening U.S.-Taiwan relations, and fostering deeper economic links between our two countries. It is long overdue.".
