Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on today’s introduction of bipartisan Iran sanctions legislation in the Senate.
“I welcome this bipartisan bill put forward today by Chairman Menendez and look forward to working with the Senate, should Senate leadership allow a sanctions bill to move. Sanctions will continue to be critical if we are going to get a verifiable deal that stops Iran’s march to nuclear weapons."
Note: Chairman Royce is the co-author (with Ranking Member Eliot Engel (D-NY)) of the bipartisan Nuclear Iran Prevention Act (H.R. 850), which was overwhelmingly passed by the House in July.
