WASHINGTON, DC-Representative Eliot L. Engel, the leading Democrat on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, today made the following statement regarding the murder of Steven Sotloff.
“I am disgusted by the reports of Steven Sotloff’s murder at the hands of ISIS terrorists. Someone who hides behind a mask and takes the life of an innocent man is a coward. A group that condones such tactics must be stopped.
“My heart goes out to Mr. Sotloff’s family and loved ones. I urge the Administration to take whatever steps are necessary to bring those responsible for this horrific act to justice.".
