Ranking Member Engel on the hearing: “I look forward to hearing from Secretaries Kerry, Lew, and Moniz to discuss the Iran agreement. I have serious questions and concerns about this deal, and input from the Administration will be critical as Congress reviews the proposal."

Chairmen Poe, Salmon, and Ros-Lehtinen on the hearing: “After reaching a nuclear agreement with Tehran, a closer examination of Iran’s alliance with the North Korean regime would be prudent and necessary. A better understanding of the illicit ties between these two rogue regimes will underscore the possibility of continued circumvention of international law as set out in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), especially in light of the billions Iran stands to gain under the deal and the North Korean regime’s need for hard currency. This hearing will provide Members an opportunity to examine the long history of collusion between Iran and North Korea in defying international law through proliferation of the most dangerous weapons, and what dangers lie ahead as a result of the lifting of certain restrictions against the Iranian regime."
