WASHINGTON-Representative Eliot L. Engel, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, this evening made the following statement.
“It’s tough to say what’s worst about the President calling Haiti, El Salvador, and places in Africa ‘shithole’ countries. It’s another embarrassment on the global stage. It’s also an insult to millions of people, including many Americans, even as he pursues wrongful immigration policies that tear families apart. The President of the United States simply shouldn’t speak that way.".
