WASHINGTON-The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, led by Chairman Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., and Ranking Member Susan Collins, R-Me., Monday approved the First Responder Anti-Terrorism Training Resources Act, H.R.3978, which allows the Secretary of Homeland Security to accept donations that strengthen FEMA’s preparedness for and response to terrorism.
The Committee also approved the Pre-Election Transition Bill, S.3196, to encourage major presidential campaigns and the incumbent president to work on the transfer of power before a presidential election is decided.
