LIEBERMAN, WARNER TO OFFER REORGANIZATION AUTHORITY

WASHINGTON - Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., and Senator Mark Warner, D-Va., issued the following statement after the Committee received the Administration’s formal request for authority to reorganize government agencies.

“We welcome the President’s request for authority to consolidate executive branch offices and intend to introduce the enabling legislation tomorrow. The proposed consolidation promises to eliminate duplications and improve efficiency - a worthy goal. We look forward to working with the Administration and our Republican colleagues on this issue."
