Johnson Comments on Charleston Church Massacre

The following press release was published by the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on June 19, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON - Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) gave these remarks in response to Wednesday night’s mass shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C.:

“Our hearts and prayers go out to all those touched by this horrific act. This massacre in a revered church in South Carolina has no place in America. Terrorists, radicalized by any hateful ideology, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. America needs to heal from the pain created by this and other despicable acts. Our country was founded on the principle of justice for all, and that healing cannot occur until justice is served."
