U.S. Diplomatic Note Extending Annex I to US-Ecuador Air Transport Agreement Until June 30, 2021

The following air transport agreement was published by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs on June 28, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

The Embassy of the United States of America presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of the Republic of Ecuador and refers to the Ministry’s Note MREMH-MREMH-2019-24976-N, dated June 27, 2019, which communicated a proposal by the Government of the Republic of Ecuador for a two-year extension, until June 30, 2021, of Annex I to the Air Transport Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador, signed at Washington on Sept. 26, 1986, which Annex I, as modified by the Protocol signed by the two governments at Quito on July 21, 2010, and most recently extended by the exchange of notes between the two governments at Quito on August 29 and Sept. 12, 2017, is due to expire on June 30, 2019. The Ministry’s note further proposes that the Ministry’s note and the Embassy’s affirmative note in reply shall constitute an agreement between the two countries, which shall enter into force on the date of the Embassy’s affirmative reply note, with effect from June 30, 2019.

The Embassy is pleased to inform the Ministry that the Government of the United States of America agrees with the proposals set forth in the Ministry’s Note. Therefore, the Ministry’s Note and the present Note constitute an agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador, which enters into force on the date of the present Note, June 28, 2019, with effect from June 30, 2019.

The Embassy of the United States of America avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility the assurances of its highest consideration.
