Troy Pederson is Director of the Office of Economic Policy Analysis and Public Diplomacy in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs. He leads a team responsible for the bureau’s strategic planning, policy and program coordination, and public outreach. The office oversees U.S. engagement with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) through the U.S. Mission to the OECD.

Troy has served in leadership positions at the State Department, including as head of the Office of Analysis for Europe in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research.

His most recent overseas assignment was as Deputy Principal Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In addition to Brazil, Troy has also served in the U.S. Embassies in Jakarta, Belgrade, and Kuala Lumpur.

In Washington, D.C., Troy has worked in the European and Eurasian Affairs Bureau and previously in the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs.

Before joining the Foreign Service, he was a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Troy is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and has a Bachelor’s degree in political science and Hispanic studies from St. Olaf College and a Master’s degree in international affairs from George Washington University. He is married and has two children.
