On behalf of the American people, I offer sincere congratulations to the people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as you celebrate the 75th anniversary of your independence. This is an especially significant year, as Jordan marked the centennial anniversary of the Kingdom’s founding on April 11.
On this day, the Jordanian and American people celebrate the strong and lasting friendship between our two nations, which has protected our countries from dangerous adversaries, created real economic opportunities through our historic trade relationship, and established cultural ties that will benefit generations to come.
The United States is proud to call Jordan its ally, and Americans are grateful to know the Jordanian people as our friends. On this 75th anniversary of your independence, we convey our best wishes in the year ahead for peace and prosperity to His Majesty King Abdullah II and to all the people of Jordan.
