U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested an undocumented individual with a prior sexual offense conviction, early Wednesday evening.
At approximately 9 p.m., agents apprehended an individual who illegally entered the United States one and a half mile west of the Calexico East Port of Entry. The individual was placed under arrest and transported to the El Centro Sector Processing Center.
Record checks of the individual, a 28-year-old male, Mexican national, was previously convicted for a sexual offense. Additionally, the subject was previously ordered to be removed from the U.S. by an immigration judge.
Since Oct. 1, 2021, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents have arrested and/or removed 16 individuals either convicted or wanted on sexual offense charges.
U.S. Border Patrol will process all the individuals accordingly.
