Week ending June 18: Transportation Department publishes 12 notices

There were 12 notices published by the Transportation Department in week ending June 18, according to the Federal Register.

The most recent notice, Agency Information Collection; Activity Under OMB Review; Passenger Origin-Destination Survey Report, was submitted on June 14, 2022.

The Transportation Department published 11 the week before, marking a 9.1 percent increase.

The Department handles nearly all infrastructure crisscrossing the country. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the Department should be privatized to save money, reduce congestion and spur innovation.

Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.

Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
