Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) released the following statement today after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a proposed rule to limit the nicotine levels in certain tobacco products:
“I am pleased that FDA intends to propose reductions in nicotine levels in cigarettes to make them less addictive. If finalized, this action would save millions of lives and is a commonsense way to reduce preventable tobacco-related deaths in the United States. I commend FDA for this action and hope this important regulatory proposal is finalized as soon as possible.”
