Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met virtually today with Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Juan Carlos Holguín. Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Holguín discussed the importance of our shared values and our continued cooperation to help democratic governments deliver. They discussed bilateral collaboration on counternarcotics, security, and irregular migration, as well as combatting climate change. Secretary Blinken reviewed current diplomatic efforts to address the crisis instigated by Russia’s military build-up on Ukraine’s borders. They also shared their interest in expanding bilateral commercial and investment opportunities.
