RGV Agents Arrest Criminal Migrants

Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) Border Patrol agents arrested three gang members and two previously convicted sex offenders within 24-hours.

On June 30, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) arrested a Guatemalan national who was found guilty of object sexual penetration in Virginia. In a separate event, he received a 12 months suspended sentence for manufacturing, sale, possession of a controlled substance and 12 months incarceration for identity fraud. He was subsequently sentenced to six months in jail for immigration related offenses and removed from the U.S.

Later that morning, MCS agents arrested a Salvadoran national, previously removed from the U.S., who was sentenced to six months incarceration for sexual assault in Arkansas.

MCS agents also apprehended two Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) and an 18th Street gang member from El Salvador. One of the MS-13 was arrested in his home country for robbery and extortion.  

All subjects were processed accordingly.
