Yesterday, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves met with the European Commission Director General for Trade, Sabine Weyand. The meeting served as a continuation of ongoing discussions between the Commerce Department and the Director General regarding multilateral export controls against Russia. During the meeting, Deputy Secretary Graves reiterated the importance of working with our allies on coordinated implementation and enforcement of the trade restrictions on Russia. He also acknowledged the critical role regular information exchange will play in the effectiveness of the controls and the need for continued dialogue on these topics.
